As of 04/01/2021, England has been put back into complete lockdown as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in the face of a new strain of the virus. We urge you to stay home, leaving only for certain reasons and for access to food and essentials. Harborne is still here for you, with many businesses operating under strict guidelines to provide you with the goods and services you need. We will continue to do our best to provide the most up to date information regarding local businesses below, but please remember to wear your face coverings, wash your hands often, and follow social distancing guidelines when you have to leave your homes.

GROCERY SHOPS & SUPERMARKETS

Sainsburys – 77A-79A High Street

Open every day from 7am-10pm.

All NHS staff and care workers, as well as the elderly and vulnerable, are prioritised at any time.

Iceland – 61 High Street

Open Monday-Saturday 8am-7pm, and Sunday 11am-5pm.

Jhoots Pharmacy – 157 High Street

Open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-1pm.

Extra health and hygiene measures in place. Those who are isolating or unwell can contact their local harborne branch to have medications and essential supplies delivered free of charge.

Waitrose – 210 High Street

Open Monday-Friday, 8am-9pm, Saturday 8am-8pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm.

Numerous measures and precautions in place. These include limiting customer numbers, new hygiene standards, cashless and contactless payments advised, dedicated marshals in busiest shops.

Fur Family Pet Centre – 13 Harborne Park Road

Open as usual – Tuesday 9:30am-6:30pm, Wednesday & Thursday 12pm-6:30pm, Friday & Saturday 9:30am-6pm.

Extra restrictions and precautions are in place. All pet visits and boarding will go ahead, home delivery and pre-order services are available. Pre-ordering is advised where possible so that your supplies can be packed and ready for collection.

Staff will be limiting customer numbers, as well as limiting certain products, and contactless payment is encouraged. A one-way system is in place where necessary.

Open every day, but be sure to check the website as opening times do vary.

Extra precautions are in place, hygiene measures, social distancing measures, and a limit to the number of customers at any one time.

Open Monday – Saturday 9am-5:30pm, Sunday 10am-4pm.

Open every day from 6am-10pm.

Dedicated shopping hours for vulnerable customers and NHS workers are Monday – Saturday 8am-9am, and Sunday 10am-11am. Customer numbers are being limited and social distancing is being practiced. Selected products are limited. Delivery options available.

Open Monday-Saturday 8am-8pm, Sunday 10am-4pm.

Customers are asked only to visit their local branch if they can’t do something online, and only get in touch if your enquiry is urgent. Priority in-branch is being given to the elderly and vulnerable.

Open Monday-Friday 9am-2pm, and Saturday 9:30am-12:30pm.

Those in financial difficulty are prioritised, and critical services are the main focus.

Only open on Mondays and Tuesdays at the moment, from 9:30am – 3:30pm.

Extra measures are in place to maintain social distancing and limit the spread of Coronavirus.

Open Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.

Temporary opening hours are Monday – Thursday from 9:30am – 4:30 am, apart from Wednesdays when the branch opens at a slightly later time of 10am.

Staff shortages have led to longer wait times over the phone, so only call if you have an immediate financial problem.

Open at normal times, although all appointments have been switched to telephone consultations. DO NOT attend the centre in person unless advised to do so.

DO NOT call the centre unless you have to. Try to self-manage using online 111 tools. Also, prescriptions will no longer be issued here and will be sent electronically directly to your pharmacy.

The Podiatry Clinic – 15 High Street

As a medical service, The Podiatry Clinic can remain open as usual throughout lockdown. This includes home visits and the treatment of patients in nursing homes. Book your appointment via the website.

Renaissance Natural Therapy Centre – 10A Station Road

Their physio, Steve Lowe, is still working in person, and a lot of their talking therapists are offering Zoom therapy sessions.
