Small Business Saturday is celebrating 10 years this Saturday 3rd December, and we love the work they do to promote small businesses to consumers!

Here in Harborne, we are extremely lucky to have so many small, independent businesses right on our doorstep, and it’s especially important to support them during the run-up to Christmas.

New to Harborne or just want to find out more about all our Harborne small businesses? We’ve got you covered – here is just a taste of what the High Street has to offer.

Food and drink

Harborne is renowned for its incredible food and drink offering, and it’s easy to see why! We have multi-award winning restaurants including Tropea, Harborne Kitchen, Umami Indian Kitchen, Rustic Table, Paul at no 41, The Proud Sicilian, Buonissimo and Estado Da India serving up unforgettable meals.

Plus, we’re always welcoming new small businesses, such as Holy Moly, The Cod’s Scallops, Hengata and Barsana, all of which have opened since 2021.

The Plough is one of Harborne’s iconic spots for food and drinks, and punters also love visiting Hop Garden for cask and craft beers, plus food pop-ups.

Hair and beauty

There’s no need to travel to the city centre with the huge hair and beauty offering here in Harborne! We have a great selection of hairdressers and barbers, including Reflections, Rumours, Suyo, Bellissimo, The Strand, The Barber’s Shop, Gentlemen’s Retreat of Harborne, George Yiannis and more.

We also have the beauty side covered with OK Cure Me, Harborne Spa and Clinic, Studio98, Harborne Beauty Studio, Jennifer’s Spa and Beauty, Utopia and the newly opened Elle Sutton Studios.

Retail

The shopping options in Harborne never fail to disappoint, with options for all occasions! We have Silver & Love and Rudell’s for jewellery shopping, Sophie Bea, Em & N Boutique and Resonate Menswear for clothes, and your furry friends won’t be left behind with Fur Babies Pet Boutique!

Cream & Black is a luxury interior design studio here in Harborne, so you can enquire for their help on your latest project or visit their store to find must-haves for your home.

Be sure to also check out Joe Richards Ltd, our Harborne fruiterer and greengrocer, and Diane Lawson and Floral Scenter, our local florists.

Non-retail

In addition to retail, you can support local through our other services, including opticians Brittain’s and Bainbridge Bespoke; Barefoot, a Harborne-based yoga studio, Renaissance for therapies and a day spa, and other services including Signature Orthodontics, The Podiatry Clinic and more.

We all know the importance of supporting your local high street, but we wanted to take this opportunity to remind our local community if you have the option to support an independent business, please do!

Also, if you’re out supporting Small Business Saturday this weekend, make sure you tag Harborne Village in your photos so we can share the love!
