Happy February half-term! If you want to make the most of the week off school in and around Harborne, here are some of our favourite ideas, from food deals to fun days out.

Best activities

Harborne Schools Out

Join Harborne School’s Out for their February Fun Club this week at Oasis Church, for fun activities like Lego, arts and crafts, board games, role play and reading – book your spot on their website! You can also find out more about their weekly after-school club, which recently launched to serve the parents, carers and children of Harborne.

Harborne Pool and Fitness

Get your kids moving this half-term at Harborne Pool and Fitness! If you buy a premium adult membership, you can add up to four juniors for free. Under 11s can enjoy unlimited swimming and use of soft play areas, and bigger kids can also enjoy unlimited swimming too, along with dedicated junior gym sessions.

Harborne Library

Harborne Library is hosting an under the sea themed storytime and craft activity this Wednesday, so make sure you secure your free tickets! They are posting a daily craft activity on their Facebook page too, so you can get creative at home.

Eating Out

The Cod’s Scallops

Of course it wouldn’t be half term without a few treats – and The Cod’s Scallops is offering half price on their Little Tiddlers meals with any adult meal (minimum £13, dine-in only).

Holy Moly Macaroni

Holy Moly have got a very special deal for this week too, where you can choose any three small plates or loaded fries for £14, or any five small plates for £20. But hurry, this offer is only available until Friday!

Green Man

If you’re looking for some pub grub, Green Man has a great selection ready for half-term – choose between the smaller appetites menu for ages 7 and under, and the larger appetites menu for 12 and under, with one, two or three courses on offer.

The Plough

The Plough is renowned for their tasty brunches, but did you know they have a kids brunch menu too? Their children’s mains also come with a free dessert, so you’re covered whatever time of day you join them.

Giggling Squid

Treat yourself to Thai at Giggling Squid, with lunchtime tapas sets from £9.95 making for the perfect family meal. They also have a little tapas menu for little people!

Due a refresh?

Harborne hairdressers

This is the best time to get your hair looking fresh for school again next week, and there’s many hairdressers in Harborne offering kids cuts, including Gentlemen’s Retreat, who have a father and son package, and George Yiannis, who are offering 20% off for new clients until the end of February.

Eye tests

Looking after your eyes is very important, especially for when you’re back in the classroom, so book your appointments at local opticians including Bainbridge Bespoke, Brittain’s and The Eye Collective.

Osbornes Stationers

It’s midway through the school year, so it’s not a surprise if pens and other pencil case essentials have broken or gone missing! However, you can stock up on new stationery at Osbornes here in Harborne.

Getting around

NX West Midlands

Some of you may have already made the most of National Express’ half-term deal for bus travel – and you can make the most of travelling around Birmingham with some other special offers, including 50% off Thinktank when you reach there on their service.
