Happy February half-term! If you want to make the most of the week off school in and around Harborne, here are some of our favourite ideas, from food deals to fun days out.

Best activities

Harborne Schools Out

Join Harborne School’s Out for their February Fun Club from Monday 12th – Wednesday 14th at Oasis Church! School’s Out has fun activities like Lego, arts and crafts, board games, role play and reading.

Head to their social media pages to find out more about the business, launched to serve the parents, carers and children of Harborne.

Harborne Pool and Fitness

Get your kids moving this half-term at Harborne Pool and Fitness! If you buy a premium adult membership, you can add up to four juniors for a small additional fee.

Under 11s can also enjoy free swimming if they are enrolled in swimming lessons alongside use of soft play areas!

For older children, aged between 11 – 15, Harborne Pool and Fitness offers dedicated junior gym sessions. These are supervised sessions that require the presence of a supervising adult and run from Monday – Friday in one hour slots, 4pm – 5pm and 5pm – 6pm. They also offer weekend sessions from 11:30am – 12:30am.

Harborne Library

The Harborne Library is hosting a number of events throughout the week.

On Tuesday, they’re teaming up with Explore Learning Harborne, for a ‘Fun with Phonics’ reading workshop running from 11:30am – 12:30pm.

Due to demand, the library will be hosting a half term story time on Wednesday, from 2:15pm – 3:00pm.

On Thursday, the library will be hosting two events. To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the library is having a story and craft session for children aged 5 – 10, taking place from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.

And they’ll be partnering with Explore Learning again to host ‘A Knight’s Journey’ , a grammar based workshop taking place from 12:30pm – 1:30pm.

Rounding out the week, on Friday, they’ll have an arts and crafts workshop for children aged 5 – 10, from 11:00am – 12:00pm.

All sessions need to be booked and have limited spaces.

Eating Out

The Harborne Market

This month, The Harborne Market falls over half term! The market will be arriving on Saturday 17th February, so you can round off the holidays with some sweet treats.

The market will be joined by street food trucks offering fried chicken, hot dogs, samosas and more! They’ll also have Platinum Pancakes this month, who’ll be making pancakes to order, a perfect treat for little ones!

There’ll be plenty more to explore with over 45 traders joining them, from 10am – 3pm in their market space beside Home Bargains!

Of course it wouldn’t be half term without a few treats – and El Buen Gusto has a Kids Eat Free offer running all day Tuesday – Sunday when ordered with an adult meal!

The Plough

The Plough is renowned for their tasty brunches, but did you know they have a kids brunch menu too? Their children’s mains also come with a free dessert, so you’re covered whatever time of day you join them.

Looking after your eyes is very important, especially for when you’re back in the classroom, so book your appointments at local opticians including Bainbridge Bespoke, Brittains Opticians and The Eye Collective.

Osbornes Stationers

It’s midway through the school year, so it’s not a surprise if pens and other pencil case essentials have broken or gone missing! However, you can stock up on new stationery at Osbornes here in Harborne.
