Cuppa Squad are a local charity providing free, friendly community group sessions designed to support individuals living with long-term health conditions, alongside those who may benefit from increased social connection and wellbeing support.

For over ten years, Cuppa Squad has delivered welcoming, informal sessions where attendees can enjoy a warm drink, meet others, and take part in gentle, supportive discussions around health and wellbeing. Our sessions offer a safe, inclusive environment that encourages conversation, peer support, and a sense of belonging within the community.

We recognise that many people experience social isolation and loneliness, which are closely linked to poorer physical health outcomes, reduced mental wellbeing, and increased pressure on primary care services. Cuppa Squad sessions aim to complement clinical care by providing opportunities for people to:

• Build social connections and supportive friendships • Reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation • Gain confidence and emotional support • Access light-touch, accessible wellbeing information • Engage in positive, health-promoting discussions

Sessions are relaxed and non-clinical, focusing on creating a steady, reassuring space where individuals feel comfortable attending regardless of background, diagnosis, or circumstance. While our sessions are particularly valued by those managing long-term conditions, such as Diabetes type 1 and 2, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Fibromyalgia, MS, Epilepsy, Autism, Heart disease, they are open to all members of the community who may benefit from social engagement and wellbeing support.

Cuppa Squad hubs are entirely free to attend, with no referral threshold or formal eligibility criteria. People can self-refer or be encouraged to attend by members of the community team.
