As part of our celebrations for the Jubilee, we launched a “Platinum Portraits” competition at some of our local schools.

Children at Chad Vale, Harborne, St Mary’s and St Peter’s primary schools all worked very hard to create their very own portraits of the Queen for her Platinum Jubilee!

We had so many amazing entries, and these have all decorated the windows of Waitrose, Harborne Pool and Fitness, and the vacant Peacock’s spot!

As well as this, all children were given a pin souvenir badge for entering, and the winners from each school received £20 High Street voucher, and the runners-up a £10 voucher, plus a prize from Waitrose to give to a Queen in their life.

We are so grateful for all their effort in the Platinum Portraits competition in helping us decorate the High Street in time for this once in a lifetime event.

Birmingham City University students have helped out with the teacup displays and other decorating in some of our shop windows – make sure you keep an eye out for their creative work!
