It’s not the holiday season without a get together! Whether it’s the annual office Christmas meal, a final holiday outing with your mates before you leave for Winter break or drinks with family and friends to commemorate the festive season, there’s a spot for everyone in Harborne!

Students

With the Winter term coming to an end, we know Uni students will be looking for places to celebrate the Christmas season together, before they head home for the holidays. Here are some of our top picks for a memorable get together before the long Winter break.

Slug and Lettuce
Everyone’s favourite cocktail bar, Slug and Lettuce has 2-4-1 cocktails all day everyday, photo spots and great vibes. Book a table with Slug and Lettuce and enjoy their new festive menus, help yourself to a Chocolate Orange Martini or Pink Paloma & Elderflower Spritz.

Arco Lounge
For drinks with more of a laid back feeling, Arco Lounge is the place to go! Book in and enjoy their latest festival cocktails, mulled wine and seasonal menu. Along with Christmas themed food and drink, Arco Lounge also has its regular wide range of offerings, including tapas for any get togethers that want to keep it casual.

Hop Garden
For the group that just wants to keep it simple, Hop Garden is the place for you. The large pub garden is lit with string lights that make for great photos and the bar has everything you need, selling beer, wine, crafts and casks for anyone that wants to keep the party going.

Rudy’s
For a sit-down dinner that’ll please everyone, book a table at Rudy’s! The friendly neighbourhood pizzeria has classic stone baked pizzas and Winter specials alongside simple Italian beers and wines. Order starters or sharers like burrata and prosciutto plates and finish with classic Italian desserts like Affogatto or Tiramisu to make the meal feel really special.

Damascena
Not drinking at your get together? Damascena is a great option. Open late, with plenty of non-alcohol based drinks and an incredible Middle Eastern inspired menu, the entire group can enjoy their final outing before they go home for the holidays.

Every Christmas the same dilemma always arises, where can the office go for a meal that will please everyone? Lucky for offices everywhere, Harborne is home to a range of outstanding restaurants that are perfect for a seasonal meal with the workplace. 

Sabai Sabai
Sabai Sabai is a taste of Thailand found on the corner of the high street. The menu is filled with classic Thai dishes, from noodles, work-fry’s, seafood and curries. With platters and set menus available in a comfortable low light, booth seating environment, it’s a great choice for a memorable office meal.

Tropea
This intimate Italian restaurant is perfect for smaller offices or smaller office gatherings. Featured in the Michelin guide, it may be hard to book a table but it’s worth it for a variety of incredible small plates, authentic homemade pasta, italian wines, and a buzzing atmosphere.

Henry Wong
The cantonese restaurant has been on the high street for over 30 years and is a fixture of Harborne’s foodie scene. With a relaxed atmosphere and luxury menu – including a new festive menu – Henry Wong is a must-visit for a special and memorable meal!

Umami
You can find Umami on Lordswood Road, serving Indian food in a stylish setting. With vegetarian and vegan options alongside all your favourites, it’s a winning choice that’s bound to please even the pickiest eaters!

And if you book with Umami on a Tuesday or Wednesday you can make the most of their Wine & Dine deal – that’s 2 courses and a glass of wine for £18.95.

In the lead up to Christmas, we’re always searching for the perfect spot to go for a drink and a catch-up with friends and family and just soak up those festive vibes! Here are some of the cosiest places to visit in Harborne this festive season:

The Plough
The pub on the high street has cosy, warming tables indoors and their Winter garden, lit up with gold lights and with plenty of heat! Make the most of their seasonal drinks like mulled wine and spiced cider or enjoy a simple beer or glass of wine in a celebratory, holiday atmosphere.

The New Inn
A laid back atmosphere and perfect for bigger parties, The New Inn is the place to go for a meet up in the weeks before Christmas. Enjoy casual drinks and cocktails in the warmth. The menu is also clearly marked for vegans and vegetarians, so everyone can enjoy the evening!

The Junction
Another spot that’s perfect for a relaxed, no-stress evening with friends and family. The Junction is easy to find at the top of the high street and has you covered for any kind of drink. The Cods Scallops
For food that will satisfy everyone and won’t break the bank this holiday season, The Cods Scallops is the place for you! The high street restaurant is fully decorated for Christmas, so you can enjoy an easy meal in the perfect festive atmosphere!
