Join us this Halloween at the newly refurbished Brewer’s Social Harborne (77 High Street) for a spooky performance or two from fabulous storyteller Pyn Stockman – Adventures in Storytelling! Pyn will be performing 25-minute stories from 4pm – 6pm.

Journey deep into forests filled with talking skulls and the threads of spider webs… meet magical horses and defeat terrible witches in this quest for light! Whilst you’re there you can also enjoy a locally brewed pint while your little one tucks into a special Halloween themed soft-serve ice cream – if they haven’t eaten all their sweets by then! Brewers Social will be offering their soft serve for only £1 on Halloween for anyone in fancy dress.

Pyn is a performance storyteller living on a boat in the West Midlands. From folk tales to mythology Pyn spends her time researching, working with and telling stories from the oral tradition to people of all ages. She loves her work! She is particularly interested in stories of wild woods and old magics.

Her family friendly storytelling, described as “magical and mesmerising” is also lively, full of fun and has plenty of opportunities for everyone to join in.

She works regularly as a storyteller with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, West Midlands Readers Network, The Ifa Yoruba Contemporary Arts Trust and in schools across the West Midlands. She can be found performing in libraries, bookshops, story-telling cafes, festivals, woodlands and heritage sites as well as more traditional performance spaces.  Pyn is also Artistic Co-director of Secret City Arts.

And that’s not all that’s happening in Harborne this Halloween! Businesses up and down Harborne High Street have agreed to participate in a High Street wide ‘Trick or Treating’ trail! They will be opening their doors to greet Harborne’s little ones with more spooky treats than they could dream of… so if you’re planning on going Trick or Treating this Halloween, why not swing by Harborne High Street and get hunting down the treats! For more information about what businesses are getting involved, take a look at our handy guide here.
