With the Jubilee just around the corner, here are some of the ways in which Harborne Village is marking the occasion!

First, we have our Platinum Portraits competition, where the children of Chad Vale, Harborne, St Mary’s and St Peter’s primary schools drew portraits of the Queen to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee. Take a look at some of their amazing entries here:

They have all done an incredible job, and we can’t wait for them to be displayed at Waitrose, Harborne Pool & Fitness and the former Peacocks site for the Jubilee!

You may have seen bunting and other decorations around Harborne already, and the BID has given over 60 packs of decorations to businesses.

Student volunteers from Birmingham City University have also created some window displays around Harborne for the occasion – they study Set Design, so have a natural creative flair!

We are so grateful for both the school children and university students for helping us decorate the High Street for this once in a lifetime event!

Also, on Saturday 4th June, we will be hosting face painting and crown making free workshops – this will be outside Brittains Opticians and WHSmith between 10am-4pm, so make sure you save the date!

There’s certainly lots to look forward to during the Jubilee long weekend in Harborne – you can read more about what some of our favourite spots have planned here.

And if you’re looking for some half-term inspiration, we’re posting our favourites over on Facebook and Instagram. We will also keep you updated with the latest Harborne news for the Jubilee and holidays over on social media, and click “going” on our event page.
